How does the contest work?
1. Take pictures of your pet or pets.
2. Upload your pet's photo to enter the Pet Pals contest. The sooner you enter, the more time viewers have to vote for your pet, so don't wait until June 8, the last day to enter.
3. Vote online for your favorite pet or pets in the Pet Pals contest. Vote as often as you like through June 22.
4. Watch for the Pet Pals Ballot Book special section to be published in The Bulletin on June 15. It's a keeper!
5. Return to www.bendbulletin.com/petpals on June 23 to see the Top 25 Pet Pals finalists. Vote for your favorite by 11:59 p.m. on June 28.
6. Watch bendbulletin.com and The Bulletin on June 30 for the announcement of the winner. It could be your pet!
Can I still participate if the contest has already started?
Yes. Pet entries are accepted through June 8. After that time you can still participate as a voter as long as it is still within the voting period. Registration isn't required to enter your pet, but registration is required to vote. If you've participated in our contests before, log in with your username and password to vote. If you haven't registered previously, click the Register tab to create your username and password.
Can I submit more than one pet or pet photo?
Yes, but a separate entry and entry fee is required for each. Entry fee is $5.
Why do you charge fees to enter and vote?
Proceeds from this contest fund the Newspapers in Education program, which provides free newspapers to classrooms throughout Central Oregon.
Are there prizes?
You bet! The owners of the top three vote-getting pets will receive valuable prizes from our contest sponsors including a photo portrait, a training class, gift certificates and gift baskets.
